DVD Authoring Proposal:

The main menu should be something along the lines of a map of the pacific rim. When the user moves the menu over the various countries/area's a short clip of the person working in that area will start to play. If multiple people are from the same area it will go to another menu (with a transition of the map zooming in on the area.) The new menu will work like the previous one.

Each working group will have their own menu where people can access videos, notes, weblinks and so-forth. If they only have a video and a short blurb than that information will be there.

The website will follow the DVD and include other working groups that were unable to make the DVD either due to space constraints or missing information. I like the idea of a wikipedia, but I think that it would be rather cumbersome to implement given the timeframe, and it may go unused. This project should be separate from the DVD. In the meantime a website with the missing working groups and areas where people can comment on their work would probably tide us over until we can work something out with Leonard to redo the entire website design. This should also keep the current web-masters relatively happy to not have a section of the website which is completely different from the rest (if they even have a webmaster.) Contact information (in the form of an email address and maybe web-form) should be provided for others to submit their work to be considered for future publication.

SFAI Diego Rivera Gallery Openings (2-14-06 Assignment 2)

SFAI Diego Rivera Gallery Openings:

Podcast and eventual documentary.

Every week on tuesdays we will get shots of people in the gallery, and we should schedule times to follow around people involved in the promotion of the gallery. Interviews with people involved (people handing out drinks) should eventually be conducted. Footage will then be promptly edited and put online - registered with iTunes pod-casts, and promoted campus and city wide. Ideally the people presenting material should be interviewed before or on tuesday. We should aim for a Wednesday release date for each new episode. Issues must be released on a weekly basis - and eventually be compiled into a documentary. Pod-cast runtimes should be at least 3 minutes and no longer than five.

Items needed for "campaign" :

Posters, slogans, a logo, a name (Diego Rivera Tuesday Gallery opening just won't cut it people..)

Ideas for names/slogans: SFAI Trendy Tuesday's : Where those in the know go. SFAI Trasher Tuesday's : Get trashed and maybe look at some art. SFAI Cool Fresh Drink Tuesdays : Because what else are you doing on a tuesday night at five? SFAI Look At ME Tuesdays: Support your fellow students. SFAI Cheap Drunk Tuesdays

Also to be discussed is possible corporate sponsorship or finding someway to meet the alcoholic beverage demands that may arise with increased public participation. Another idea discussed was the utilization of the court yard to project video pieces and perhaps advertisements for Tuesday's proceedings.
