Project 1 -- Title 'Seenae'
My project is 'the damaged'.
I've had mini-dv tapes which were recorded the little girl, Seenae by myself. She was suffering from cancel without no cure. Her father had denided her to see a doctor because he had wrong belief that God might cure his daughter by his praying not the physician's medicine.
The time when I met her was that I was working as a assistant director for documentary production team of Korean Broadcasting. I filmed her situation for my broadcasting documentary which was similar like 60 minutes in U.S. After on aired, this documentary affected to Korean a lot. Everybody who watched this documentary had angry about the father's abuseness and wrong belief. Because the documentaty was really succeful, I felt great like I did do amazing thing as a documentarian.
After all, everything seemed fine. Seenae went to see a doctor for meditation. The father went to jail. The other family members, the mother and brothers, went to public shelter hiding from father's abuseness. I came back to my another work to do.
Couple of month later, everything was changed. The father had killed himself after coming out of jail. Seenae was dead either, missing her family. However, nobody knew about the tragedy. The moment I knew the changed reality around her was my turning point as a broadcasting director. I felt myself that I did wrong and I had broken one family totally.
After then, I have threw away the tapes and store the tapes in dark humid space. 8 years later, 2005, I reopened the tape box here to remember Seenae's life not as a commercial broadcasting guy but as an artist. I collected the damaged visual and sound of all tapes remembering both my damaged memory and Seenae's humble life to recorrect the relationship me with Seenae.
I hope that this project will be a beginning point for me as an artist reborn to tell something good.

What experience do you have with sound software and what kind?
not much...knowledge about sound tool in final cut pro also, recording skill with camcorder.

nope

I like free and open but, don't like programming....^^
What kind of experience with building speakers and external sound hardware do you have?
I have pretty good skill to build speakers,connectors and lines

Video installaton and single channel video stuff,,,,,keep trying to perform something.
