How did you connect between the idea of creative commons and Art?

- History : Netscape , The birth of open-source through the Netscape creators meeting up and deciding to go open-source.

- The idea of open source is to give The source-code along with the software.

-in 2003 people started posting on the internet about sharing videos/music/pictures, professor laurance lessing came up with the idea of Creative "Commons", where "Commons" can stand for anything like any shard resource.

-By signing any piece of art or literature , your declaring it your own, and noone can use it without your permission, so the idea of Creative Commons is to allow The author/artist to share thier c

Explaing creative Commons terms: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.Share alike : if others want to use your art, they are bound by the terms you specified under the "dreviative" Terms of sharing.

Piorities: Coming up with projects, you should consider piorities, Jon's Idea is that everybody should own a website, where they can share their ideas ,thoughts and creativity. He qoutes Joi Itto's " Every Person should have a max of 3 piorities", putting religion aside they can be anything from money, family, relationships, friendship , your personall projects or any other thing you see as your piority.

Strenghts and weaknesses: When jon was in beijing he started re-thinking about his strenghts and weaknesses, like his good in social relationship , communications and marketing, he believes his an "ok-coder" !!!! If you work with people who you can cover on their weaknesses and share them your strenghts , then that would help contribute to a project.

Principle "Always Say Yes!" : Always say yes untill you cant say yes anymore, well atleast untill your so in trouble your forced to say no.

The core concept of the principle is helping or doing things that others would just ignore/pass by without caring about, like picking up a shovel to fill a hole that everyone else passed by without bothering themselves to try and contribute in filling the hole.

Q: Can i use inkScape for drawing my art? A: Yes , but there is other open-source softwares like GIMP.

Q: We cant Automate web applications using PHP, What other laternatives do we have ?

A: Well it depends, if you've got a video to make, with a 1 month deadline, you wouldnt start writing a video rendering software froms cratch, you'd go buy Maya and start working on it right away.

Q: Do you think Digital Rights Managment (DRM) is in coflict with Creative Commons (CC)? A: DRM is dead, their community is lessning.

-- You should have a backup plan when a commet hits the earth, do something like buy land on the moon (like lil wayne).

Q: When will we see an open-source Gaming Console, like playstation3 and such? A: Thats a good question, well you see gaming companies are the most properity companies around, like HD-DVD it costed Toshiba 400 million $. So thats a good project, Someone should start working on it.

Q: Are there alot of open-source Hardware projects? A: The chi-project that i am working on, also there is the monome project ( monome.org) which is an amazing Music keyboard.
