Rockefeller Grant Brainstorm 2006

I have been nominated for a 2006 Rockefeller grant. There are 60 nominations and they select only 6 people, so it is competitive. Thus, I am trying to think of new projects that could use this large sum ($35K) to jump start development.

Event Map
Event Map would be a map (like google maps) where one can input events, times, dates, and then make them searchable from one's current location to the various events...Could use roadster (http://linuxadvocate.org/projects/roadster/) However, maybe it is too much software and not enough "art."
Event Map - a topological mapping of the earth with daylight show and various zoom levels that shows events by certain metadata feeds so that that type of event can be thresholded and searched....plus, mappings could be built as well as routes of choice...and more to be able to plan things....
