Proposal for performance events in rural Panama in 2010

Born out of the unofficial and improvised activities in conjunction with The Invisible Generation in 2009, CarniCore brings together a small number of artists for a workshop with unorthodox premises. Each artist is asked to use entire and freshly slaughtered animals as the material for a performance, sculpture, workshop or other event. The animals should also remain edible and remain the food during the workshop.
The process allows the artwork to pass through the digestive tract of its audience, leaving the boundaries of what artwork, process, performance, conviviality, consumption and excess is.
CarniCore will include talks and presentations by the participating artists at art institutions in Panama City and un-announced performances in the public space of the capital.
The project will be documented by a catalogue.
