I've been working many a late night trying to recuperate from big personal blow. In the midst of all of this, at nearly midnight I turned on the TV in the background to hear Mary J Blige singing her heart out. All I wanted to do right then is sing my heart out like Mary J Blige!

I remembered then an old idea I had to make a booth to scream into. This can be as simple as the isolation booth (black box) that Matt Hope and I came up with many years ago. This box I decided to rename the soul box, because if its all about screaming, than you can only be in pain. I want the soul booth to be about letting any emotion or urge out of your head and chest.

It should be a booth or a room that allows for one to go in and yell, scream or sing at the top of the lungs!

An extension of this is rather than going to the gym, sing or scream for 30 minutes! Just let it all out!

I guess in closing, what really interested me from watching Mary J is how she just summoned a great energy from her chest. I need to see her live!

Also, after being in China for a so long, it really connects to get to that part of me so heavily influenced by black culture, jazz, funk and soul. Its still such a part of me. The soul booth is about reconnecting!
