The idea is to make subtle projects which can educate those in rural parts of the midwest. The first one is to make building structures to color code where various parts and manufactured goods come from.

The idea is for these projects to be subtle, blend into the environment, not be overtly didactic, but influence the way buildings, structures, and learning happens in midwest rural areas.

There is such a preference for only buying American goods, and the people of the middle of the United States need to be re-educated about the way the world works. This is a proposal to educate in a subtle way and not to take a forceful stance. "Folks" in the midwest do not take kindly to forceful proposals or ones where they are not considered. Rather, if they are included and are able on their own to see the realidad, they are more likely to learn rather than shut down.

Reorganized projects include:

  • Clothing
  • Buildings
  • Cars
  • Houses

Of course, the manufacturing does not take into account the invisible labor or creation of ideas, it does foreground the location of manufacturing. Possible problems to solve include accounting for the design or creation of an item. How can we express this in a physical way? Is it important the "Designed in Cupertino. Made in China?"
