Similar to social network services and the previous idea of making a social network for dead people, aka wikipast, aka IDEA_20090222_Deadbook, comes the idea to make a semantic wiki-based social network service that computes guanxi connections. Guanxi is interesting and slightly different then just the business connection in Western world. It appears to me that western social connections are direct, and contacts are assumed friends until that relationship is broken. Upon seeing someone and participating with them each time, the social connection gets stronger. Thus, friends are more of a degree from acquaintances to best friends. With guanxi, a connection is typed by the transaction that each party can provide. Thus Wang might have a guanxi connection with Lu. Wang provides free licenses to Lu, and Lu provides a car service for Wang.
I propose to make this guanxinet project to build a semantically linked wiki of social connections, akin to Guanxi Networks.
Ratings for Guanxi can be certified as 1G up to 3G and beyond. 1Guanxi is where everyone starts.
