Guanxi (关系), a magazine, will map guanxi connections, provide plans for media projects, and investigate the role of relationships between people and resources. In some ways this is an updated version of the Shanzhai magazine proposed already as another #IDEA2009. The reasoning is that Shanzhai is a very new unestablished slang term, while Guanxi can encompass shanzhai and so much more. Also, it will have great interest to chinese people.

The goal for Guanxi is to make a periodical that has journalistic integrity. The sponsorship, advertising, and subscription revenue will fund the magazine. There will a strict separation between the revenue and the content of the magazine.
