This idea is really on hold now since I don't have time to make this one huge. Originally I co-founded with Thomas Scott and we pushed it as a way to put up legal contracts. For now, we will leave it alone, but I have proposed to http://agree2.com to absorb the ideas in this project, and since they have the resources to really push this project.
What Ownterms needs is more usage, an armchair legal and a real legal community behind it. Without these, I fear that it will not scale up much more than just a wiki with legal contracts.
Another reason I helped push this project is that Creative Commons didn't want to take on contracts, model release forms and other novel forms of non-licenses, and rightly so. It is better for CC to really focus around its core product.
For Ownterms to flourish it really needs a loving developer community and some cash to sustain the project.
