China gives one many ideas. One in particular I read about before involved a theme park where Disney characters and Looney Tunes characters and the Beijing Olympics characters all are together in one theme park. This shanzhai cartoon collage inspired me to wonder if this type of brand cross-pollination could literally and legally happen in the United States. How much effort and money would it take to make a film with Disney and Looney Tunes characters to appear alongside each other? Of course anyone can make this happen on their own. The laws of certain countries strictly forbid this under the fear of bad products and inability to pay for a project.
