For Cantocore Free On Board, too much sunlight entered the space and during the day, one could not see JD Beltran's "Downtown Mirror" piece consisting of a projection. Thus, I sprang to action to mask off one of the huge skylights. While not a perfect solution, the creation of this, as recommended by my pal Barry Threw, became a new piece in and of itself.

This idea also reminds me of my friend Matt Hope who, in grad school, reminded me that most artwork is additive. We should be removing more or at least removing as much as we create.

"Maske" is about both hiding reality and/or removing it. It also refers to a bad business transaction I had with an entity called "Maske."
