As part of my efforts to turn some of my older projects into the true beauties they are and then consolidate other ones, I worked with Robert Martinez to create a cool new logo for the Create Project: http://create.freedesktop.org
The Create Project mission is to "catalyze communication and sharing between Free and Open Source creative software communities like Inkscape, Gimp, Scribus, Open Clip Art library, Open Font Library and more. We do Libre Graphics Meeting and share Specifications. Join our Mailing List, use the Wiki, or chat at #create on irc.freenode.net."
I've long hoped to move this entire world forward to be better than other suites that exist, and to have a place for all these projects to come together. If anything, the Libre Graphics Meeting conference that comes out of the Create Project is big enough in its own right to make a difference. My goal now with the nice refresh, and one afternoon total overhaul of the site, which aggregates peoples posts from around the web who are part of the project, is to work on shifting graphics and creative applications to the web, and look at ways to do this legally and in a good way. This is partly related to the http://autonomo.us project and more.
